What this site does, and does not, do with your data. Last updated August 2026.
New in SF (newinsf.com) is a small, static guide with no accounts, no logins and no contact forms. It is built to be private by default and collects as little as possible.
What this site collects
The site itself does not ask you for any personal information and has no database. There is nothing to log in to and nothing to fill in.
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any website, when your browser loads a page, Cloudflare processes basic technical information such as your IP address and browser type in order to deliver the page and protect the site from abuse. This is standard server activity and is not used to identify you personally.
Cookies
This site does not set any tracking or advertising cookies. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary cookies for security, which are needed for the site to work safely. There is nothing for you to accept, which is why there is no cookie banner.
Analytics
To get a rough sense of how many people read the guide, the site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics. It is privacy friendly and cookieless: it counts page views and shows aggregate information like popular pages, referrers and visitor countries. It does not use cookies, does not track you across other websites and does not build a profile of you.
Amazon affiliate links
Some pages, such as the camping essentials page, contain Amazon affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. If you buy something after clicking one of these links, I may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you: the price you pay stays exactly the same.
When you click an Amazon link you leave this site and continue on Amazon, whose own privacy policy and cookies then apply.
Other external links
The guide also links to other services, including referral links for apps and cards. Those websites have their own privacy policies, which this policy does not cover.
Your choices
Because the site uses no tracking cookies, there is little to opt out of. You can always use your browser settings or a content blocker to limit analytics and third party requests.
